Position Description
To assist with facility readiness, excellence in facility care, a distraction-free environment and a ministry experience for volunteers and service providers
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning: To ensure that the building and grounds are always clean and ready for use. This includes vacuuming, running the carpet cleaning machine, cleaning the bathrooms, dusting, etc.
- Room Set-Up: Set up rooms, including tables being set up or taken down, placing chairs, easels, etc.
- Security: To ensure that the building is locked securely following our corporate service times.
- Assist: To assist the Campus Service Director in all building and ground maintenance as needs arise.
- Procedures: Must have knowledge of the Emergency Procedure of the building systems.
- Other: Other duties as assigned.
Administration
The Campus Services Associate will keep in contact with the various Team Leaders to ensure that tasks are being carried out and see if any help is needed. Contact with the Campus Service Director should be made on a regular basis to keep him/her informed of actions and goals.
Desired Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Position Description
The Upper Elementary Associate will provide key leadership over the older Elementary (grades 2-5) ministry of our Discoveryland Children's Ministry. This position requires oversight of volunteers, facility, curriculum, and resources required to effectively minister and care for grades 2-5. The associate will support the Pastor of Children's Ministry with both short-term and long-term projects, including being part of the VBS leadership team. The associate will assist with the oversight of Discoveryland during weekend services. The associate, as part of the Family Ministries Team will help with special events designed for families that take place throughout the year. In addition, team building and volunteer care are critical to success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Procedures: Develop processes and procedures to effectively train volunteers in Discoveryland. This effort would include recruitment, shadow training, and formal training opportunities. These training initiatives would be carried out to ensure the effectiveness of our weekend programming and outreach efforts.
- Coaching: Provide ministry coaching and accountability with older elementary volunteers.
- Resources & Curriculum: Develop, edit, and prepare curriculum with staff team. Ensure all volunteers are adequately resourced with supplies and curriculum.
- Program Development: Develop creative programs by organizing teams of storytellers, and technical support personnel to integrate music, video, and other creative art forms to enhance our teaching efforts during weekend services. Work closely with the Children’s Creative Communications Associate to develop videos and media enhancements. Practices and technical run-throughs will be required well in advance of service times. This will require volunteer recruitment and close interaction with the purchased curriculum.
- Staging: Provide facility oversight by being responsible for the integrity of the staging area for the kids including lighting, sound, video staging props and multi-media equipment.
- Oversee: Assist with oversight of Discoveryland during our regular service times.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Team Building: As a member of the Family Ministries team, assist in various projects and events as needed to build teamwork.
- Volunteer Care: Provide care for the volunteers and ensure age-grade volunteers relate to each other through regular and frequent community building times.
- Budget and Facility: Assist the Pastor of Children’s Ministry with the preparation of the department’s annual budget.
- Facility: Ensure the facility and its contents are safe, clean, and in good order for every service. Interface with non-Discoveryland room users as requested by the Pastor of Children’s Ministry.
- Communication: Parent and volunteer communication.
Accountability
The following is a list of things for which the Room Coordinator would be held accountable:
- Staff Meetings: Attend monthly staff meetings on global, visionary, and organizational matters.
- Departmental Meetings: Attend Discoveryland Family Ministries team meetings to ensure personal integrity and fidelity in your personal and spiritual life.
- Continuing Education: Use of continued education to develop his/her talents to model excellence in the ministry through attendance at conferences, seminars, classes, etc.
Commissioned Responsibilities and Expectations
- At Northwoods, commissioned staff are spiritually ready to minister to the congregation and community on a personal level.
- Care Responsibilities: The expression of care may include but not be limited to: Prayer, teaching, encouragement, shepherding, equipping, personal ministry, and visitation.
- A spiritual leader in our community who contributes to the spiritual growth and formation of the people he/she leads and influences publicly and privately.
Interaction with Others
This person will work most closely with Discoveryland Family Ministries staff as well as ministry volunteers and parents. In addition, networking with other children’s ministries for problem solving and creative solutions will be helpful.

Should possess a heart for God and skills in loving adults and children. This person will possess the ability to see and communicate “the big picture” or how a lesson/event will look with attention to detail and methods of delivery.

Position Description
The Family Ministries Volunteer Associate is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various Volunteer events and on boarding. This role involves creating a welcoming and engaging environment for Volunteers in Family Ministries facilitating training, communication with volunteers, and organizing recruiting along with celebrating the volunteers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Volunteer Assimilation
- Volunteer Processing: Implement processes and procedures to effectively assimilate volunteers into Family Ministries. This effort would include recruitment concepts (including seasonal pushes), applications, interviews, reference checks, national background checks, and orientation.
- Volunteer Recruitment: Creating and implementing a volunteer campaign twice a year to recruit volunteers to serve in Family Ministries.
- Volunteer Training: Quarterly volunteer trainings for new and vetted volunteers.
- Resource Management: Manage the budget allocated for volunteer resources and events, including purchasing necessary supplies, materials, and resources within the approved budgetary limits.
- Special Events: Create and implement volunteer celebration throughout the year.
General Responsibilities
- Meetings: Attend weekly Discoveryland staff meetings. Assist with monthly team meetings scheduled around weekend service times.
- Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings for global, visionary, and organizational matters.
Interaction with others
- Volunteer Communication: Connect with currents volunteers through social media, email, and mail.
- Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and staff members, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
- Able to work well with other Northwoods staff, adult volunteers, and parents.

Position Description:
The Adult Ministries Associate Pastor will provide spiritual leadership and direction for the men’s, 20s/30s, and senior adult ministries. Additionally, this person will assist the Adult Ministries Pastor with small group and discipleship opportunities for people in the various ministries. This will all take place through Northwoods discipleship model.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ministry Leadership
- Numerically and spiritually grow the men’s, 20s/30s, and senior adult ministries.
- Interact positively with volunteers, attenders, and staff.
- Support and promote the discipleship strategy and vision of Northwoods Church.
- Continually invite Northwoods attenders to take a spiritual next step into a ministry.
- Personally train on ministry best practices through conferences, seminars, etc.
- Volunteers
- Provide clear and timely communication with all adult ministry and small group volunteers.
- Consistently add new leaders to the various teams.
- Work with volunteers to make adult ministry events a desirable destination for attenders.
- Provide and equip volunteers an opportunity to use their giftings for serving others.
- Small Groups
- Oversee and care for select small group leaders.
- Constantly recruit new small group leaders.
- Plan and execute Group Launch events following adult ministry events.
- Assist the Adult Discipleship Pastor with church-wide small group and Group Launch events.
- Provide short-term studies for the various ministries or demographics.
- Host or participate in a small group.
- Adult Ministries & Events
- Plan a yearly calendar for adult ministries and discipleship.
- Develop and care for leadership teams who will run the ministry events and activities.
- Create new service opportunities across the various adult ministries.
- Partner with other departments around the organization to host events.
- Create and host ‘attract’ events in each ministry.
- Administration
- Create event-specific publicity including registration forms, emails, and social media.
- Ensure all behind-the-scenes work is completed, such as event creation and approvals.
- Keep good records. This includes but isn’t limited to turning in receipts, handling cash and checks, following up with interested people, and tracking attendance of groups and ministry events.
- Keep an accurate email list for the various ministries, communicating with those lists about upcoming opportunities.
- Work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Contribute to the budget planning and tracking for adult ministry.
- Organizational Responsibilities
- Attend staff and department meetings.
- Attend staff events throughout the year.
- Work Christmas production and Easter services as required.

The Adult Ministries Associate Pastor should be a blend between people and task personality traits. You will need to be both administrative and have a heart for people. He or she should possess a heart for God and the interpersonal skills needed to interact with many different personalities.

Educational and Experience Required:
A Bible College education is preferred, and proven experience in building teams and ministry systems in a church setting is expected.
Time Requirements:
