Mother's Day Weekend
Special Guest Robin Dykstra
We have a special guest speaker, Robyn Dykstra, joining us to celebrate Mother’s Day. Robyn has an incredible story of God’s faithfulness. She was widowed twice in only 4 years and shares her testimony of the power of prayer and finding joy in difficult circumstances. She’s funny, engaging, and genuine, and we hope that you will come back to hear her on Mother’s Day weekend.
We will also have child blessings Mother's Day weekend. At Northwoods, Child Blessings are a way for you as parents to seek God’s blessing while making a public commitment to raise your children according to His plan. Blessings are meant for children under the age of 12. If your child is older please consider our next Baptism opportunity for anyone over the age of 12.
We want everyone to feel connected. If you're new to Northwoods, the Four Steps classes are the place to start.
How to take the Four Steps:
In Peoria and Galesburg, the Four Steps happen every Sunday at 10:45am.
You can also take the Four Steps anywhere at any time online at my.northwoods.church!
Setting Captives Free
The Bible takes Satan and demons seriously—so should we. We are surrounded by people in bondage to sin and oppressed by the supernatural influence of evil spirits. Even many of our Christian brothers and sisters are saved for eternity yet tormented in the here and now. That is not the life of freedom Jesus intends!
Thankfully, He gave us all the power and authority we need to overcome the realm of darkness, to release the prisoners, and to set the captives free!
Through dynamic teaching and clear examples, learn the biblical basis for deliverance ministry and receive practical training to help you help others find deeper freedom from persistent spiritual oppression or influence in their lives.
Everyone is welcome!
Thursdays by appointment
We all have seasons when life gets complicated, confusing, or challenging—and we need people praying with us! Make an appointment for a one-hour Get Prayer session and enjoy a safe time during which prayer team members will listen and pray for you or for someone you are concerned about.
Re:Generation is a biblical discipleship process that uses a 12-step format to enable healing, recovery, and freedom from any life-controlling issue. Our community provides a safe environment where you can experience freedom, healing, restoration, and recovery in Jesus Christ. Complimentary childcare is provided.
One of the core values of Northwoods is Grander Vision—that means that we want to see the hope and help of Jesus carried to wherever God calls us. Our strategy to achieve this is to train and equip leaders to plant new churches throughout this region as well as around the world—each one a beacon of light and healing for our broken world.
Through the newly established Northwoods School of Ministry, people will have the opportunity to learn the practices and principles of church building by working daily alongside the Northwoods staff, receiving teaching from the pastors and expert practitioners here.
At the same time—via a collaborative partnership with Lincoln Christian University—Northwoods School of Ministry students will engage in extensive coursework to establish a sound theological foundation and earn a masters degree.
