Is God Real? Alpha Courses tackle life’s big questions.
In this day and age, it can be challenging to have real conversations about faith and life’s deeper meaning. Is God real? What is faith? Why are we here? At Northwoods Church, our Alpha courses aim to bridge the gap and provide a safe environment to get people talking and asking questions. Through a series of interactive classes, Alpha brings together individuals willing to discuss the bigger questions of life and explore the Christian faith on a deeper level. Alpha courses are free to attend and have no obligation or follow-up!
Eat • Learn • Discuss
Food has a way of bringing people together. At the beginning of each Alpha course, you can enjoy a snack or meal while getting to know the people participating in your class. You can use this time to get acquainted with the others in your Alpha group and hang out before diving into the lesson and discussion.
After enjoying some food and getting to know one another, you'll watch an Alpha video lesson. Each video is created to spark conversation as well as teach a lesson. Through the lessons you will explore the big issues surrounding faith, apologetics, and unpacking the basics of Christianity.
Once the group views the video lesson, discussion begins. Alpha is created to be a safe and open space for sharing your own perspectives and opinions. Everyone will have a chance to share their ideas and thoughts on the topic presented in the lesson. With a small-group setting, you can feel at ease to express yourself as well as hear from others—creating an atmosphere for good discussion.
Midway through Alpha, you can participate in the Alpha Weekend Away. Over the course of a couple of days, you will enjoy a retreat-like experience where you can thoroughly reflect on what you’ve been learning. The Holy Spirit will be invited to touch your life in powerful, new ways, and the friendships you’ve been building will begin to solidify into lasting relationships.
